I saw Project Hail Mary today, and it’s such a beautifully made movie with a captivating story. I watched it in an IMAX Laser theater—a format I haven’t experienced in a long time. It suited this movie perfectly; the spacewalk scenes, in particular, were colorful and breathtaking on the large screen. The sound was incredible, and I noticed a real difference compared to a standard digital theater. I don’t think every movie needs to be seen in IMAX—probably not even this one—but I read a few reviews that mentioned it was shot for IMAX, and I wanted to experience a movie in a “premium” format.
The pacing of the movie was excellent—I never got bored or even thought about going to the restroom, which is unusual for me. Maybe the IMAX experience really does immerse you into the world of Project Hail Mary!
Rocky was an amazing character. His gestures, physique, the way he uses models to communicate, his tattoos, and even his ship—all so memorable. I’m inspired by him, and also by Grace. I’m looking forward to reading the book. —amaze! amaze!
